Visited the "spa" which consisted of a couple pools filled with really cold water and a small jacuzzi. It's very bright and people in the restaurant area can watch through the glass wall. Super uncomfortable and awkward. We left after a couple minutes.

Visited the ”spa” not the hotel. It features a selection of very small pools with extremely cold water in every single one. A huge downer after a long day skiing in -16 C. Wish they would mention this at the counter / webpage so that people who arent into iceswimming would not waste their money. 1 star for the hot sauna, though.

Mycket vänlig personal. Restaurangen i närheten hade goda burgare och snabb service. Nära till skidbackarna, hade en jättetrevlig guide som åkte runt första dagen på alla öppna backar. Liftsystemet ger möjligheter att variera åkningen ganska lagom för en hel dag. Breda fina backar. Vissa dagar disigt på morgonen på toppen men det klarnade upp mitt på dan. Hade även tur med lite sol ett par dagar. Pehku får man inte missa, för afterski eller lunch och fika.

We had a lovely winter holiday in Tahko . ||The Nilsiä area is extremelly beautiful. A lot of white snow everywhere. The weather was typical and traditional finnish winter that is nowadays unusual in Helsinki. (About - 10 celcius.) I would like to spend a Christmas there.||||The Spa suites Orange B 8 was a beautiful, smart, well designed and comfortable apartment near Tahko ski centre. ||The living room was luxury and spacious and the bedrooms were very guiet.||There were bathrooms for both bedrooms and also a sauna with shover and toilet.||||We did downhill skiing for five days. The lifts and hills were on the other side of the lake. It could have been possible to walk there but we preferred driving there. ||The hills were not very long but for us demanding enough. ||||We did also cross country skiing. There were a lot of well done ski tracks and the landscape is wonderfull. I wish we had had more time for that.||The Tahko Spa swimming hall was too crowded and small. ||||I recommend Tahko mostly for families. The nightlife was not so superb.

The food was horrible. I ordered a shrimp salad with a double portion of shrimps. And I barely managed to find shrimps there. I found exactly 12 units. For the god's sake. We happen to have more people in our cottage. When I asked the girls over there if they forgot about what I've ordered they sarcastically responded that they didn't and what I see is a Finnish double.

On the other hand I got freaking a lot of green salad. If I was a cow I would be extremely happy. But as a sane human being - I expect when the things match their titles.

I understand that in general in Finland it is a good idea to lower your expectations about service quality. But hey. Not that much.

Great views, good location, perfect size for family with 3 members, sauna, warm parking hall with elevator directly to apartment front door, equipment storage with service capabilities - this is everything you need for a nice accommodation in a ski resort.||Unfortunately the quality is not what you'd expect for the price. Elevators not working at all during the stay, ski storage area is filthy, cleaning of the apartment is average and so on. You could live with this, but especially considering the price level, you'd expect a lot more. ||And the most disappointing thing is the level of customer service. All the contacts to customer service regarding the problems at the apartment were useless. No help while contacting the reception during the stay and no comments to feedback questionnaire after the stay... ||Quite big disappointment especially on this price level. There are plenty of better options to choose from in this area.

Our family was participating in the largest mountainbiking event in Finland. The event is hold in the Northern Savo in Nilsiä Tahkovuori Skiing resort area. It is a remote but beautiful place quite far from the main cities of Finland.||||We decided to go there one day before the event and were searching for a decent accomodation near to the event center. We found the special offer for two nights stay at TahkoSpa suites from the MTB-Tahko official website. We booked a standard suite for two nights. As a result we got a very well equipped air-conditioned holiday home and free access to their Spa.||||The suite included two separate bedrooms with own bathrooms. A large living room together with an open kitchen including all the latest household machines and cutleries. There were also own sauna, washing machine, three large flat TV-sets etc. in the suite. So shortly this was a perfect place for our family stay for the Tahko-MTB days. Our sons also loved the possibility to go to the Spa whenever they wanted.||||Please note this is not a real hotel. It is more like a holiday apartment even though they have a restaurant in the separate Spa building and some in-room dining possibilities as well as beverages in the minibar (actually a large fridge). They are also not cleaning the room during your stay, but there is also a vacuum in the room.

Just had a nice steak meal here and it surprised me how well the portion was constructed. Not too expensive but definetely worth the money ?
