We spent a morning snowmobiling nearby and enjoyed a spectacular lunch at the lodge. Mushroom soup, moose goulash, it was fantastic! The next time we visit the kiruna area we will definitely stay here - there were a few nicely appointed rooms and a cozy, beautifully decorated sitting lounge. The owners were so welcoming and hospitable. Absolutely fantastic! They had all kinds of activities available too - snowmobiling, cross country skiing, and dog sledding!

Charming and full of character. Excellent breakfasts, and some plans include dinner which is also first rate. Nice sauna, included, and a rooftop hot tub (extra charge) offers the possibility of views of the aurora. The associated Adventure Lapland company offers interesting activities.

Amazing experience. We can’t recommend this place enough. Situated outside Kiruna, you can use their own ski’s for Nordic skiing, they also provide snow shoes and have snow mobiles.|We booked two trips through them (Adventure Lapland) and couldn’t recommend them enough. Brilliant experiences. Skidoos with dinner in the teepee with home made soup and cake, and then a full on adventure in the snow, up and down mountains. Fabio was brilliant and so knowledgeable about the area.|Mikko and his family, including Fabio are wonderful. We were treated as part of their family and offered cakes, sweets and were so welcomed. We wanted for nothing. Tea and coffee readily available along with chocolates! Breakfast was very good. |Wonderful place to see the Northern Lights which we did on the first night! |We also used the sauna and hot tub. Fantastic!|We can’t fault this place at all. |Brilliant value for money. A real homely vibe. |Recommend without doubt staying here. We had 4 fantastic days at Mattarahkka Lode. Miko and Emma are great hosts and fulfilled our every wish. The landscape around the lodge is beautiful and invites you to go for a walk or cross-country skiing. Winter wonderland is guaranteed. The two reindeer are the icing on the cake.
The activities are super organized and with fabio and jussi we had the best guides. They share their knowledge with us, show us the most beautiful spots and are happy with us when we cheer at every northern light in the sky. We felt at home and so it was very hard to say goodbye. We will definitely be back!

What a great place to spend a few days in Swedish Lapland ! The rooms were cosy, and it was special to see the Auroras dancing in the sky! Thank you for the hospitality and we will definitely return again.

We stayed at the Mattarahkka Lodge from 12.01 to 16.01.23 and we absolutely loved it: the lodge is very comfortable, the few rooms allow everyone in the stuff to take good care of the guests and flexibly adapt the activities to best suit each single one of them.
The food is local and very tasty, the offered activities covered all possible adventures and the stay ensures a unique experience.
They helped us by arranging all transportation, giving good advice and teaching us local culture.
The location is perfect.
We were very lucky and saw the northern lights both from the hot tub as well as from the bed.
Can only recommend and cannot wait already to come back!

We had an amazing 2 nights at the lodge. We arrived early in the morning and our room was already ready so we could dump our suitcases and get their snow gear sorted ready for an excursion. We did 4 activities whilst at the lodge - the Sami experience, dinner in the tepee and northern lights chasing, snow mobile trip, and a hot tub hour. All the tours were brilliantly organised and run by happy, knowledgable, friendly people. We had a cloudy night for our northern lights chasing, but instead of doing nothing Adrian took us on an informative tour of Kiruna and explained about the iron ore mining and the town being relocated as a result. The food was lovely and I’d recommend the gin & tonics infused with hand picked berries and spruce by Barbara!!
