We stayed in this wonderful house for 2 nights in November. Truly a beautiful place, lots of Swedish countryside charm and character in it, very cozy and comfortable, everything arranged with care and very clean too. Kerstin is a great host and a very nice person to hang around with. The full, Swedish breakfast she prepared for us each morning was a delicious feast of salmon, ham, cheese, fresh eggs, marmelade, cereals, etc and best of it all, breakfast room is in a beautiful greenhouse, part of the actual house. Was absolutely wonderful. Our room was on the second floor, comfortable beds, clean, all wood around, warm, excellent sleep at night. The neighborhood is serene and quiet, a short walk to the town center and beautiful surroundings all around. Left enchanted. 🙂

This B&B is a real pearl and a must stay when you’re in or around the city. The owner is very friendly, the house and room are clean and cozy and there is a story being told with the old furniture, accessories and black and white photographies on the wall. It’s like a travel in time in the best sense. The breakfast is also very good and organic. It’s ideal for a vegan: fresh fruits, juice, tea, gluten-free cornflakes and other options.

Old house with a lot of Swedish antiques and pictures in the rooms. Interesting to stay in such an old house and see how the people must have lived there. Feels like going back in time to the 1800's. Three rooms on the second floor share one bathroom which is down a narrow stairwell, not the best for anyone who is not agile. I had to put the duvet cover and pillowcases on my bed, which I wouldn't have expected--this is not a youth hostel. Fairly quiet neighborhood. Bring an eye mask because the curtains are lace and it can be bright in the morning. A little hard to find if you don't have gps, just a map, because it is not in the direction of city center, where most people go upon exiting the train, but it requires you to walk up a level amidst all the construction, across several train tracks, and then down a level to street level, and then about a mile down into a quiet neighborhood. Better for people who have cars and want to know what it's like to stay in a very old house.

The B & B Sodra Lycke was a lovely lodging experience in the small city of Växjö, the gateway to the Kingdom of Crystal. Innkeeper Kirsten was very pleasant, warm, and welcoming. The B & B itself is charming, in a 150-year old house that is quintessentially mid-19th century Sweden, with lovely antique furniture and pressed linens, lace curtains, and art glass windows in the sunroom where we enjoyed our delicious fresh breakfast (with eggs from the black hen out in the yard). The yard was lush and lovely, with apple trees and lots of flowers and bushes. Easy and free parking on the quiet residential street. We had an overall wonderful stay for one night and felt it was a very good value. ||||One thing to keep in mind in staying at the B & B is that the shared bathroom is on the first floor (the 3 guest rooms are on the second floor), so one needs to: 1) share the bathroom with the other guests, and 2): one has to go up and down rather steep stairs at night if you need to use the bathroom. This might have special considerations for those with special health or vision needs, elderly who have trouble navigating steep stairs, etc. There was only one other couple at the B & B when we were there and the timing seemed to work out fine and there was not a problem sharing the bathroom in the morning. Nonetheless, my husband and I opted not to take a shower in the morning at the B & B. Just something to keep in mind if you are used to an en suite bath and shower arrangement.

I stayed at Södra Lycke for two weeks and it was a really nice stay.||My room was tiny but comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, with home prepared marmalade and organic fruits and vegetables.||Location is good, in the middle of the green but ten minutes walking from the city center and the train station. The neighborhood is quiet and there is no noise around.||Kerstin, the housekeeper, is lovely.||I totally recommend it!!

We stayed here with five students to visit te linnaeus university. Kerstin is such a warm and nice woman, we really felt at home. It was not big, but we had everything we needed. There is a shop very close to the B&B and it's open from 7 to 23h every day! Train station is 17 minutes walk and the University around 40 mins. But it is a lovely walk next to the lakes. Just perfect!!! ❤️

Stayed here one night and took over the place - all three rooms! ||You really do feel as if you are staying in someone's house. The hostess looks after you very well. The rooms up stairs are lovely - beautifully presented - lovely linen etc. the bathroom is shared by all three rooms and is at the bottom of the very narrow stairs.||Breakfast was plentiful and varied. ||She was helpful in finding somewhere to eat dinner too. Vaxjo we did not particularly warm to - but the accommodation here was charming.
