To say we enjoyed our visit would be a huge understatement . The moment we arrived at their home Pekka and Aini made us feel not only welcomed but as if we were royalty. We were handed glasses of fresh Birch water directly from the tree in their front yard ! They explained the process of gathering that only enhanced the enjoyment. From there we were given a tour of their lovely home. Our next treat was the massages, at home we are regular devotees of massage and indulge once a week so needless to say we can be critical. Well the secret here if that they had both been physical therapists at one time! After the massage we had been given the entire downstairs for our sauna experience. Now this was not an ordinary sauna experience, again Pekka indulged with home made Bilberry ( blueberry) juice and more birch water to make sure we did not dehydrate. She shared her home made birch astringent to cleanse our faces and then hand made soap and shampoo as well as moisturizer cream. The lovely sauna was enhanced by a foot bath with yes yet again home made birch salts and birch tree twitches to stimulate the skin. After each 10-15 minute session in the sauna we had the luxury of a private exit to the snow plunge experience while our bodies smoked thru the cool down experience. |When we felt thoroughly cleansed both physically and spiritually which Pekka explained was an additional benefit of the sauna. The final treat was the delicious meal! Again home made smoked fish, hand picked mushrooms and a yummy cheese and mushroom tart, also included a salad and 2 very Finnish desert treats. |If you have the time while in Rovaniemi or need a place to stay, don’t miss the opportunity to indulge yourselves you will not be disappointed

This was an amazing B&B which exceeded our expectations. Pekka and Aini are wonderful and hospitable hosts who genuinely like meeting and interacting with their guests. Pekka is a very good cook who provided us with a lovely breakfast of Finnish foods. I would recommend the breakfast as it was excellent and good value, and a good introduction to Finnish cuisine. We took the Airport shuttle straight to Kotite and found this quite easy. Kotite is a homely yet spacious B&B with a lovely touch of nostalgia to its interior which we found quite charming. The kitchen and bathroom were modern and clean and contained everything you would need for your stay. The B&B is only a ten minute walk at a moderate pace from the city centre and this was not difficult for us even with deep snow on the ground. Pekka and Aini made our stay truly memorable and we can highly recommend their lovely B&B.

We stayed for 1 night at the start of our trip to Lapland and couldn’t have hoped for a better place to choose. It’s in a great location close to the Arktikum and the accommodation is lovely: spacious, clean and separated from the house so gives you a real feel of independence. Breakfast and dinner were fantastic and a great introduction to Lappish cuisine. Strongly recommended

In addition to the B&B, these folks offer a private sauna visit in their home, along with an explanation of Finnish sauna culture and a homemade dinner if you like. I chose the herbal sauna and dinner plan, learned a lot, relaxed for as long as I wanted in the sauna(with trips out to the snow to cool off!) and finished with a great dinner. You have the whole sauna and nearby rooms to yourself so it’s completely private. Everything you need from towels, robe and soap(also homemade!) to a shower and drinks to refresh during and after the sauna. I am really happy that they had space available for my last minute booking...cannot recommend this experience enough!

I will join the rest of the reviewers giving Pekka a 5 star review. We stayed at his place March 1-7, 2017. I can't imagine there is a better place to stay in Rovaniemi for a couple. The B&B is actually a small house right behind the house that Pekka and his wife live in. The house is perfect for a couple-bedroom, full kitchen, living area and bathroom. Parking spot off the street for your car. Free wifi although the signal is a bit weak-I could get on with my computer but then our phones and tablets could not get on. Not a big deal and Pekka is aware of this. As others have written, optional breakfast is 10 Euros per person and definitely worth it. I am a fussy eater and I had no problem getting a filling breakfast. Pekka is extremely freindly and accommodating. He allowed us to use his washer/dryer for two loads of laundry. If we ever come back here we would definitely stay here again.

Nous avons été chaleureusement reçus par Aini et Pekka pour notre première nuit en Finlande. Ce couple charmant a été plein d’attentions envers nous.||Leur maison est joliment décorée et apaisante, un cocon de verdure non loin du centre de Rovaniemi (10min à pied, même avec 30 cm de neige !). ||La chambre privative à l’étage est impeccable et chaleureuse, le petit déjeuner typique et fait-maison. ||Un grand merci à Aini et Pekka pour ce petit moment passé avec vous !||Alex and Cécilia

Spend a long weekend in Rovaniemi at the Kotitie B&B. Very nice room with super clean and modern bath; fantastic breakfast with lots of homemade local specialties. Really pampered by the hosts, who even catered to food allergies very well. Location is very convenient, only couple steps to downtown Rovaniemi. Enjoyed it very much
