Words fail us to describe how amazing this hotel is and all that they offer. It is a once in a lifetime experience in every way. Simmi, Alma and Kalle are a fabulous team and really welcoming and generous with their time and knowledge. Nothing was too much trouble and they hosted us very warmly, and the activities they arranged were amazing. Alma and Simmi were both fabulous cooks - on the outdoor lunch and Simmi for dinner. The cross country skiing was amazing and Kalle was so patient. The DogSledging was like nothing we have ever experienced before and the generosity of time for us for our ‘private’ trip was incredible.||We flew into Lulea but Rovaniemi is closest! Simmi kindly arranged a transfer taxi for us and nothing was too much trouble. ||It was very cold however it’s never the weather that’s wrong only the clothing! We took layers and salopettes which was great outdoors, and we didn’t mind the -24 when we were in our beautiful little House Kristina, which was really warm and comfortable. ||This is not a big hotel, it is a personal dream of the owner and the team to preserve all that is wonderful about the cultural heritage of the area and it is certainly does this. Everything felt really carefully thought through as to its impact on the environment to the awareness of nature and the serenity of it and all it has to offer. It really did make you wonder just what you miss in our busy daily lives. Everything was beautiful, from the communication pre our visit to the end of our trip. ||We arrived at the Arthotel as strangers but never felt this in our entire time and cannot recommend this wonderful hotel more. If we are this way again we would stay in a heartbeat. This has left a mark in our hearts as a once in a lifetime experience. Don’t hesitate to stay, and perhaps one day we shall return.

We spent 4 days and 3 nights in a rented home at the ArtHotel. The house was perfect for our family. Most other accommodations in the Swedish Lapland’s would require our family of four to split up 2x2. We wanted accommodations that we could be together and this home was perfect. Everything was modernized, all the accessories needed for the stay. Meals were provided in the main home so we didn’t need to worry about cooking. Food was fabulous, compliments to Simmi. You can arrange to self cater and there is a restaurant within a reasonable distance if you want options. Gunhild arranged all our activities which were perfect-reindeer, Sami culture, snowmobiles, dog sledding. My only regret is that we didn’t take one extra day or two to relax at the house and enjoy the property more. Many trails from the house for cross country skiing, snow shoeing. Equipment provided. Would love to come back in the summer. The Torne River Valley has such a humble character, but so beautiful.

We visited the newly named 'ArtHotel Tornedalen' over Christmas and New Year. We like to stay in unique places which are off the tourist track and this is exactly what we found here. ||||We stayed in House Arundi which is absolutely lovely. It feels like home and has all the facilities you could need. It is beautifully decorated with local furnishings and is incredibly stylish throughout. It also has a traditional sauna within the house which is great to use after a day out in the cold! The position of the house is absolutely stunning and we saw some of the most amazing sunsets and sun rises during our stay here. ||||The area is very relaxed but also has some activities to try which the owner Gunhild recommended us. Ahead of our stay she sent us a fantastic list of things to do and was on hand whenever we needed her. Gunhild helped arrange a fantastic New Years for us going to the 'do it twice' celebrations and it is the best hospitality I have ever received on holiday. ||||Our trip was a perfect balance of relaxation and doing fun winter activities. We visited Rovaniemi one day (1 hr 30 drive) and then did more local activities (which was MUCH better than in Rovaniemi) such as husky riding, snowmobiling and ice fishing. There is also a great local restaurant called Hulkoffs for dinner!||||Upon arrival we met were greeted with a lovely Christmas tree outside the house and Christmas cake baked by Maria the house keeper which was a great touch.||||I could not recommend this place more highly, and would love to visit again during the mid summer (when it is daylight for 24hrs a day!).||||If you want an authentic Lapland experience away from the touristy areas this is most definitely the place to go!!||||Thank you all at Arthotel Tornedalen for making this an unforgettable trip!!

The Arthotel Tornedalen is an experience incomparable to anything I have had before. I actually skied out of the woods to find a warm red home with spectacular views through the front windows whether you look in at the art or out at the beautiful Torne River wandering below. ||Maria who works for Gunhild the owner greeted me. She had prepared a delicious lunch, and over food we spoke about the small village of Risudden on the banks of the River. Risudden is an old village and full of beautiful big traditional style homes. Maria also told me about the hotel being a part of Gunhild's major project to bring a Konsthall, a big art gallery and cultural center to the Torne Valley.||Maria showed me my room and the sauna. The rooms are simply decorated with very comfortable beds and bathrooms. All the amenities are not just good, they are carefully curated for their design and origin, done by Gunhild, a true curator. The sauna is a very nice one with a woodstove.||When Gunhild returned in the evening from a business trip, we shared a wonderful conversation over another of Maria's delicious culinary creations. Then Gunhild told me more about her art collection. What a treat to stay in a beautiful hotel that is home to some of Sweden's best contemporary art. ||Highly recommended place, it will fulfill the body and mind, with stories for the future.

6/5. We had a truly great and unique stay at Tornedalen Art hotel. Exceptional place, with a lovely owner Gunhild, who has great taste. Each house and room is decorated with beautiful style mixing a bit of the old with the new and the surroundings were absolutely beautiful, nature everywhere you look. Highly recommended!

Ligger naturskönt, med utsikt över Torne älv med underbara solnedgångar vid rätt tid på året. Eller fridfullt inne i skogen. Husen är vackra och välskötta både på utsidan och insidan. Har du varit där en gång vill du komma tillbaka igen.
