Ett fantastiskt ställe men åk inte hit annat än vid högsäsong. Vi skulle till Tromsö i slutet av aug. Och gjorde en övernattning här. Vilka fina lodger! Frukosten däremot var under all kritik. Vi hade sett bilder på nätet och hade förväntningar. Vi fick äta frukost i lodgen, köket var stängt. Överkokt grönt ägg, grötpulver som blev klister, torrt bröd, crossiant som var seg istället för spröd.
Vi blev erbjuden 30euro som komp. Det tyckte vi var dåligt med tanke på vad vi betalt. Så vi bad dem skicka pengarna till Ukraina. Sedan har vi inte hört av den, trots påminnelse. Det hade varit bra om vi fått bekräftat att de skickat pengarna till Ukraina.

The Arctic Skylight Lodge is a hidden gem located just outside the Akaslompolo city center, making it the perfect escape for aurora hunters. We were lucky enough to witness the Northern Lights dancing across the sky, and the view from our room with its three-sided mirror windows was simply breathtaking! ||The room itself was a cozy haven with a comfortable bed, a coffee and tea, hot water pot and refrigerator. ||The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. Breakfast was a delightful mix of à la carte and buffet options, with fresh and local ingredients.||||Overall, our stay at the Arctic Skylight Lodge was truly magical. It was the perfect blend of comfort, privacy, and natural beauty. We highly recommend it to anyone seeking a romantic and unforgettable getaway in Lapland.||||I think this version should be fine.

My experience was far from what I expected, especially considering the price I paid (over $500 for one night).

Upon checking into my lodge, there was a noticeable sewage odor throughout the room. At first, I assumed it might be temporary, so I went to enjoy the sauna (extra charge) and dinner. However, when I returned later that evening, the smell had worsened significantly, making the room nearly unbearable to stay in.

I reported the issue to the front desk, but to my surprise, the only “solution” offered was water, which was both unacceptable and dismissive given the severity of the problem. I would have expected a more appropriate response, such as a room reassignment or at the very least, a genuine effort to address the situation.

The next morning, the smell had intensified so much that I had to leave the room door open in -15 C just to tolerate being inside. The odor was so overpowering that I couldn’t even pack my luggage properly. Instead, I had to gather my clothes by hand and take them to the front desk because staying in the room for more than a few minutes was impossible.

What disappoints me most is the lack of care or urgency from the staff in handling this issue. I have sent several emails and not heard back from the manager.

This level of service does not align with the premium price I paid for the stay. A hotel at this price point should offer exceptional comfort and service, yet I experienced the exact opposite.

I am writing this review because I believe others should be aware of the lack of basic room quality and service responsiveness at this property. THEY DON’T CARE about customer service. I hope the management addresses these issues moving forward, but based on my experience, I cannot recommend staying here.

We had a wonderful experience staying in Arctic Skylight Lodge. The cabin is lovely and comfortable, and the experience of sleeping under the glass roof is absolutely amazing. We loved the feeling of being surrounded by the forest while inside, and didn't even want to close the curtains. There is an option to entirely block the view from neighbours, but we wanted to keep it as open as possible. In the evening we just laid in the bed and looked at the starry sky on top of us, unfortunately no Northern Lights at that night, but we managed to see 2 falling stars!
The cabin is not extremely spacious, but it is pleasant in size, not tiny. Nice furniture, comfy bed and quality bedlinen.
Also extra credits to the restaurant, the food was amazing. Would definitely go again!

Wir hatten eine Übernachtung in der Skyligjt Lodge. Ein großartiges Erlebnis. Das Essen in Form eines 3-Gang-Menüs und eines Büffet-Frühstücks mit Spezialität von der Karte war phänomenal. Die Lodge liegt etwas abseits des Haupthauses. Schlitten helfen beim Gepäcktransport. Die Lodge besteht im Wesentlichen aus dem großen, sehr bequemen Doppelbett, einem kleinen, aber modernen Bad und einer kleinen Tee/Kaffee-Station. Die Ruhe und Aussicht ist fantastisch. Wir hatten das Glück, einige wenige Nordlichter bewundern zu können. WLAN gibt es nur im Haupthaus, 4G-Empfang ist aber - wie überall in der Gegend - hervorragend.

Outstanding. We would return in a heartbeat. The staff were welcoming and accommodating. The rooms were beautiful, private, and comfortably appointed, and the glass surround really makes you feel as though you're immersed in nature. We had dinner both nights we were there, and the food was excellent (the wine pairings were excellent as well.) The breakfast seemed very typical of what we saw almost everywhere in Finland (which was quite good.) If you go, definitely book the sauna (and take the dip in the lake.) ||An earlier reviewer mentioned no room cleaning--we actually appreciated this because it seems wasteful of time and resources. By request seems reasonable. We too carried our bags by sled to our room, though we were offered a car ride. Fresh towels were in the sauna for us, so we did not need to bring our room towels.

The on-site restaurant serves delicious local cuisine, and a variety of well-organized activities like husky sledding and guided Northern Lights tours make the experience truly unforgettable. Highly recommend for a luxurious and unique Arctic adventure!
